1Move out of traffic if you can do so safely. Turn on hazard lights. Check yourself and others for injuries before anything else.
2Always request police and, if anyone is hurt, EMS. Insist on an official Georgia crash report — it’s a foundation of your claim. Get the report number.
3Photograph all vehicles, license plates, the scene, road conditions, traffic signs, and your injuries. More photos are always better.
4Get the other driver’s name, insurance, and contact info. Collect names and phone numbers of any witnesses before they leave.
5Adrenaline hides serious injuries like concussions and internal damage. A prompt medical record protects both your health and your claim.
