Damariz Ortiz is a bilingual paralegal fluent in both Spanish and English. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia State University in May 2024 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a concentration in Law and Society. She is now a third-year student at the Georgia State University College of Law, where she expects to earn her Juris Doctor in May 2027.
During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Ortiz earned a place on the President’s List four times and was honored as both a Goizueta Latino Leadership Scholar and a Coca-Cola First-Generation Scholar. She served as Vice-President of the Dean’s Advisory Council from 2021 to 2022 and worked as an undergraduate assistant in the university’s Latinx Student Services and Outreach office (now Cultures, Communities, and Inclusion). She also volunteered as an interpreter for the College of Law’s Immigration Clinic, supporting clients through complex legal processes.
Damariz lives in Marietta, where she enjoys spending her free time reading in delightfully overpriced coffee shops, hiking with her dogs, running half-marathons, and traveling. So far, she has explored 13 states and 11 countries—and she’s always planning her next adventure.
