Built On The Same Values You Are

Solidarity Isn't Just a Word to Us. It's How We Practice Law.

Unions were built on a simple promise: nobody stands alone. When one member is in trouble, the whole local has their back. That's exactly how Morrison & Hughes treats every injured worker who walks through our doors.

We represent Teamsters, tradespeople, drivers, dockworkers, and their families across Georgia when a serious injury threatens their health, their paycheck, and their future. We know the difference between a third-party injury claim and a workers' compensation case — and we know how to pursue both so you don't leave anything on the table.

Our commitment to organized labor goes beyond casework. We come to your union hall, explain your rights in plain language, and make sure your members know exactly what to do before the worst happens. That's the "we're here for you" relationship we want to build with every local.

What We Do for Union Members

Full-Service Injury Representation for Working Families

From the moment of the crash or the on-the-job injury, we handle the legal fight so you can focus on healing and getting back to work.

Car, Truck & Motorcycle Accidents

When another driver's negligence puts you in the hospital, we pursue every dollar — medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering — and take on the insurance companies built to deny you.

On-the-Job Injuries

Hurt while working? We pursue your full recovery, coordinating any workers' compensation claim with a third-party personal injury claim so the two work together instead of against you.

Workers' Compensation

We help union members navigate denied claims, disputed benefits, and return-to-work fights — protecting the benefits you've earned through your contract.

Catastrophic & Wrongful Death

Spinal injuries, TBIs, amputations, and the loss of a loved one demand lifetime damage modeling and trial-tested advocates. This is the core of our practice.

Insurance Bad-Faith Help

When an insurer lowballs, delays, or denies a legitimate claim, we know the tactics — and how to make them pay what your case is actually worth.

Know-Your-Rights Education

Free presentations at your union hall, printed member guides, and a direct line to our team — so your members are prepared long before they ever need a lawyer.

10% Member Discount
A Real Benefit for Card-Carrying Members

10% Off Attorney's Fees — Because You've Already Earned It.

That's on top of our standard promise: we work on contingency, so you pay no attorney's fees unless we recover compensation for you. The consultation is always free, and there's never any obligation.

Verify Your Membership & Get Started

Discount applies to attorney's fees on qualifying personal injury matters for verified members in good standing. Just bring your union card or membership verification. Cannot be combined with other fee-reduction offers.

The Reality for Working Georgians

Why Injury Representation Matters for Union Members

Transportation, warehousing, and trade jobs — the backbone of Teamsters work — are among the most dangerous in the country. The numbers below come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Be Ready Before It Happens

How to Handle a Car Accident: A Step-by-Step Guide

Whether you're behind the wheel of a rig or driving home from a shift, what you do in the first minutes after a crash can make or break your claim. Save this guide — and share it with your members.

1

Get to Safety & Check for Injuries

Move out of traffic if you can do so safely. Turn on hazard lights. Check yourself and others for injuries before anything else.

2

Call 911

Always request police and, if anyone is hurt, EMS. Insist on an official Georgia crash report — it's a foundation of your claim. Get the report number.

3

Document Everything

Photograph all vehicles, license plates, the scene, road conditions, traffic signs, and your injuries. More photos are always better.

4

Exchange & Collect Information

Get the other driver's name, insurance, and contact info. Collect names and phone numbers of any witnesses before they leave.

5

See a Doctor — Even If You Feel Fine

Adrenaline hides serious injuries like concussions and internal damage. A prompt medical record protects both your health and your claim.

6

Don't Give a Recorded Statement

The other driver's insurer will call fast. Anything you say can be used to cut your payout. Politely decline and refer them to your attorney.

7

Notify Your Own Insurer

Report the accident promptly as your policy requires — but stick to the facts and don't speculate about fault or the extent of your injuries.

8

Call Morrison & Hughes

Before you sign anything or accept any offer, talk to us. The consultation is free, and union members get 10% off our fees if we take the case.

Common Questions

Union Member Q&A

Does Morrison & Hughes really offer a discount to union members?
Yes. Verified local union members — and the members of their household — receive a 10% discount on attorney's fees on personal injury matters. That's in addition to our standard contingency-fee promise: you pay no attorney's fees at all unless we recover compensation for you. Just bring your union card or membership verification.
Will hiring a personal injury lawyer affect my union benefits or workers' comp?
No. A third-party personal injury claim is separate from your union benefits and from a workers' compensation claim. When someone other than your employer caused your injury, you may be able to pursue both. We coordinate the claims so you don't leave money on the table or jeopardize the benefits you've earned.
I was hurt on the job. Is that workers' comp or a personal injury case?
It can be both. Workers' compensation covers on-the-job injuries regardless of fault. But if a third party — another driver, a contractor, a property owner, or an equipment manufacturer — caused your injury, you may also have a personal injury claim that recovers damages workers' comp doesn't, like full lost wages and pain and suffering. We'll evaluate both at no cost.
What should I do immediately after a car accident?
Get to safety, call 911, and do not leave before the police arrive. Otherwise, you risk being accused of a “hit and run,” even if the accident wasn’t your fault. If you are seriously injured, let the ambulance take you to the hospital, and use your health insurance. Once you can safely do so, call Morrison & Hughes. The insurance company starts to build their case against you immediately, and important evidence can disappear within 24 hours. Getting your lawyer involved at the beginning ensures better results and gives you a shield against insurance adjusters trained to deny your case.
How much does it cost a union member to hire your firm?
Nothing upfront. We work on a contingency-fee basis — you owe no attorney's fees unless we recover for you — and verified union members receive a 10% reduction in those fees. The consultation is always free and confidential.
How long do I have to file a claim in Georgia?
For most personal injury claims, Georgia's statute of limitations is generally two years from the date of the injury (O.C.G.A. § 9-3-33). Claims involving government entities can carry much shorter ante litem deadlines — sometimes six months. The sooner you call, the more evidence we can preserve.
Can my local union partner with Morrison & Hughes?
Absolutely. We build educational, member-support partnerships with locals across Georgia — including free "know your rights" presentations at your hall, printed member resources, event sponsorship, and a dedicated point of contact.
