How would someone report a work accident if they don't have their supervisor's email?
A lot of employees don't have their supervisor's email these days. If you have your supervisor's cell phone number, you can send them a text message. When you do, remember to include three things:
- Mention the fact that you were hurt at work.
- List all the different parts of your body that were hurt.
- Ask for medical care.
If there's an internal system — like Facebook Messenger or an instant messenger — we wouldn't recommend using that. It's going to be very hard for you to access that system and prove you made the report if you leave the company or you're out of work. A text message to a cell phone stays on your own device, where you can always retrieve it.
