About Our Partnership

ATU Local 732 & Morrison & Hughes

For over a century, ATU Local 732 has fought for the transit workers who keep Atlanta moving — bus and rail operators, mechanics, and station crews at MARTA and other metro carriers. That fight is built on a value Morrison & Hughes shares: nobody stands alone.

Our partnership exists to extend that protection off the clock. When a Local 732 member or a member of their family is hurt in a car accident, an on-the-job collision, or by someone else's negligence, we step in — explaining your rights, taking on the insurance companies, and pursuing the full compensation you deserve.

And that commitment reaches across the whole region. Whether you drive for MARTA Mobility and MV Transportation, CobbLinc, Ride Gwinnett, or Fulton County human-services transportation, the people who move metro Atlanta deserve a firm that moves for them.

This is an educational, "we're here for you" relationship. We come to your union hall, we show up for your members, and we answer the phone when one of your operators needs help. No cost to the local, ever.

How to Handle a Car Accident: A Local 732 Member's Checklist

On the clock or off, what you do in the first few minutes after a crash protects your health and your claim. Share this with your members.

1

Get Safe & Check for Injuries

Move out of traffic if you safely can, turn on hazards, and check everyone for injuries before anything else.

2

Call 911

Request police and EMS if anyone is hurt. Insist on an official Georgia crash report and get the report number.

3

Document the Scene

Photograph all vehicles, plates, damage, road conditions, signs, and injuries. More photos are always better.

4

Exchange Information

Collect the other driver's insurance and contact info, plus names and numbers of any witnesses before they leave.

5

See a Doctor

Even if you feel fine — adrenaline hides concussions and internal injuries. Prompt records protect your health and claim.

6

Don't Give a Recorded Statement

The other insurer will call fast. Politely decline and refer them to your attorney before saying anything about fault.

7

Tell Your Steward If On the Job

If you were working, report it through your supervisor and union steward so any workers' comp claim is preserved.

8

Call Morrison & Hughes

Before signing anything, call us. The consultation is free — and as a Local 732 member you get 10% off our fees.

Common Questions

Local 732 Member Q&A

What discount do Local 732 members get at Morrison & Hughes?
Verified ATU Local 732 members in good standing — and the members of their household — receive a 10% discount on attorney's fees on personal injury matters. That's on top of our contingency-fee promise: you pay no attorney's fees unless we recover for you.
How do I prove I'm a Local 732 member to get the discount?
Just bring or mention your ATU Local 732 membership card or membership verification when you contact us. There's no paperwork to complete before your free consultation, and there's no obligation.
I'm a MARTA operator and was hurt in a crash. What are my options?
If another driver or third party caused the crash, you may have a personal injury claim in addition to any workers' compensation benefits. We coordinate both so your union benefits and your injury recovery work together — and we pursue damages workers' comp doesn't cover, like full lost wages and pain and suffering.
Does this partnership cost Local 732 or its members anything?
No. Our educational presentations, member resources, and consultations are free. There's no cost to the local or its members for the partnership, and members only pay reduced attorney's fees if we recover compensation for them.
What should I do immediately after a car accident?
Get to safety, call 911, and do not leave before the police arrive. Otherwise, you risk being accused of a “hit and run,” even if the accident wasn’t your fault. If you are seriously injured, let the ambulance take you to the hospital, and use your health insurance. Once you can safely do so, call Morrison & Hughes. The insurance company starts to build their case against you immediately, and important evidence can disappear within 24 hours. Getting your lawyer involved at the beginning ensures better results and gives you a shield against insurance adjusters trained to deny your case.
Can my family members use the discount too?
Yes. The 10% attorney-fee discount extends to the members of a verified Local 732 member's household on qualifying personal injury matters. When your family is hurt, we're here for them too.
